You need a success coach

Success coaches are knowledgable upperclassmen who are trained to help you with anything you’re dealing with. They can give you advice about academics, finances, personal goals and more. It’s totally up to you what you discuss with your coach during your 30-minute session.

You can meet your coach in person, talk on the phone or meet via Zoom. Your coach is there to help you succeed  — it’s up to you to make the first move by scheduling an appointment.  

Who is my coach?

The Student Success Center works hard to match you with a coach who will benefit you. If you find a coach you prefer to the one you were assigned, go ahead and meet with them instead (no hard feelings, we promise). There are coaches from all different backgrounds and experiences, and whoever you meet with will be ready to discuss your situation, and help understand and benefit you the best they can.

It's never too early to start thinking about how you’re going to make the most of the rest of the semester. And that includes working with a coach to plan how you’re going to reach your goals, ace your exams and a create a solid plan for completing all of your requirements.

Your coach will help you dive in to your schedule and your goals to build the best plan for you. They can even give you an in-person assessment near the end of the semester to gauge your preparedness for your second year of college, go over the results and help guide you toward any necessary improvements.

Once you meet with your coach, you automatically have a cheerleader who is rooting for your success. Don’t be surprised if they call to ask how that test you were stressing over went, or if they celebrate with you when you ace it.
