Tips for finding and landing a job

Finding a job isn’t easy, and no one is doubting that fact. We’ve probably all heard our parents tell stories about their summer jobs in college and thought that it sounded too good to be true. It’s hard, but you can do it.

• Tailor your resume and cover letter to the position you are seeking.

• Use keywords from the job descriptions in your resume and cover letter to get noticed by an organization’s applicant tracking system.

• Join groups, seek out alumni and follow companies on LinkedIn.

• Attend career events and jobs fairs so you can meet employers in person.

• Tell everyone you know that you are looking for a job. Networking is key!
